As Monster's Josh Hansen's knows the right time to wick it up on dirt bike, doing so the past two summers on the world's action sports stage - the ESPN Summer X Games' Super X event. The two-time defending champ used the one-off race effort as a springboard to return to AMA SX and MX action this year with the Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team, courtesy of Pro Circuit boss Mitch Payton. Taking '09 off after a disappointing campaign with the Joe Gibbs team the previous season, Hansen's looking to rebound aboard the world-renown factory KX250F machines. Son of MX great Donnie Hansen, the soon-to-be 26-year-old Josh entered the pro motocross scene in 2002. Three years later Hansen would make a memorable run at the 2005 ESX title, taking the championship right down to the wire in a 143-143 point tie before placing 2nd to Monster athlete Grant Langston based on overall wins. A so-so year in '06 was followed up with a solid 6th place WSX effort in 2007 with three top-five finishes.
